Narrative:
The person in this photo is suffering the consequences of being in love with the wrong person. An absolute and complete failure. The burning card represents the condition of the subjects torn out and defenseless heart. Dreaming and falling in love with an idea. Then putting the wrong face on it is what this song was about. We've all done it, and this song was a tribute to those who are still recovering from making such a fatal mistake.

Background:
My first experience with recording everything into a DAW. Tape was no longer a necessary or desired medium. This track along with the rest of "Ghosts I Have Been" stayed digital all the way through the mastering process. It was fascinating at the time to see that one could do this affordably. It was only a few short years earlier that only the big guns of the recording industry had that kind of luxury .
